Babyline is a counselling and support service for mothers who are in crisis and struggling to cope.
Mothers In Need
We provide counselling and support to birthmothers to support them in their efforts to care for their baby and provide options when they cannot.
How to contact us
We provide a dedicated phone/WhatsApp service that women in need can contact. This is manned by compassionate and experienced individuals able to give the necessary counselling and support
Get Support
Mothers calling in to the Baby Line will be provided with immediate care, counselling and psychological support. We then connect them with a nationwide network of partners.
More About Us
In South Africa support structures for needy mothers are weak. Of the many factors at play within our social construct the biggest contributors to abandonment, illegal abortion and neglect are:
- High rates of poverty
- High rates of gender-based violence and rape
- Unemployment, or fear of loss of employment due to an unplanned pregnancy
- Shame and stigma (cultural and societal paradigms)
Baby Line was started to fill the gap and provide a first port of call for mothers in distress. Whilst we began in KwaZulu-Natal, we help women all over the country.
THE PEACE AGENCY is a registered NPO specializing in the care of orphans and vulnerable children, specifically abandoned babies in need of temporary safe care pending family reunification or adoption.
Through this work we have encountered mothers in the most severe and desperate circumstances doing everything in their power to provide for their babies. It is because of this experience that we have identified the need for a systemic intervention.

BabyLine network partners include non-profit and faith-based organisations, providing
support and assistance for women and children in need.
BabyLine will act as a conduit between the mother and these partners who then provide ongoing support and resources for mother and child.
The BabyLine team tracks each case to ensure the best possible
outcome.
